AZIZON: a new design that unites tradition and halal values
AZIZON, from Samarkand, is one of the largest producers of halal sausages. With its portfolio expanding and its packaging due for a refresh, the company needed a unified, recognizable style across all products, and came to our team to create it.
It was important not only to update the look of the packaging but also to respect the traditions and culture of an audience that follows Islamic principles and values halal products.
In developing the new design, we drew on the cultural and religious traditions that matter deeply to Muslims in Uzbekistan. For this audience, halal status is the main factor in choosing sausage products, so the packaging had to show that production follows Islamic principles.
Islamic art has a long tradition of ornament and geometric pattern. It inspired the idea of bringing elements of Islamic geometry into the new AZIZON design.
We used intricate patterns that form a distinctive, easily recognizable design rooted in culture and tradition. The solution respects religious principles, draws the eye with its beauty and stands out on a shelf that is short on bright colors.
At the center of each pack is a green star, the “New Star of Samarkand,” bearing a halal mark. It tells shoppers clearly that the product meets Islamic standards, while the concept name underlines its halal status and the brand’s ties to its historic home.
In the visual communication we also used images of Samarkand’s landmark architecture, with AZIZON products carefully placed within these architectural elements to show their place in the region’s own cultural tradition.
The new AZIZON packaging reflects not only the halal status and quality of the products but also the brand’s deep connection to its place of origin. The aesthetics of Islamic art and distinctive patterns create a recognizable, attractive image that clearly expresses the brand’s values and its commitment to tradition.
