Our task was to create a name and identity for a barbershop in Warsaw. The name had to sound the same to locals and visitors and immediately read as “about beards.”
We found a simple, memorable solution: Brodski (“broda” is Polish for beard), a short, resonant name that also sounds a little like a surname.
At the visual center of the brand is the European bison, one of Poland’s symbols: authentic, shaggy, rugged and calm at the same time. The character works as a system, changing hairstyles, mustaches and beards across touchpoints, from the sign and merch to social media and the price list. The identity plays strict typography against a lively character, so the brand looks contemporary and avoids vintage barbershop clichés. The outcome is a clean, adaptable style with strong character that is instantly recognizable.
