Modern design for a top-grade cottonseed oil
Darital is a top-grade cottonseed oil, cold-pressed from select raw materials on modern European equipment. Thanks to the way it is produced, the oil is completely odorless, which makes it a versatile choice for all kinds of dishes.
Our task was to design packaging that would emphasize the product’s premium quality and set it apart from competitors. Alongside the packaging, we also had to create point-of-sale materials (POSM) that would support brand recognition and reinforce the brand’s distinctiveness in the market.
On store shelves, cooking oils tend to look alike: yellow tones, pictures of food or cotton, classic decorative typefaces. We chose a different route. A product made with modern technology called for a fresher approach to packaging, so we took “less is more” as our starting point, a principle built on minimalism and carefully considered detail.
The concept highlights the product’s purity, premium quality and advanced production. We built the idea of cold pressing into the design through the color palette and geometric elements that convey order, professionalism and visual balance.
The design is anchored in a deep navy blue that evokes the coolness of cold pressing and visually separates the product from competitors on the shelf.
The vertical logo gives the pack a sense of movement and symbolizes oil being pressed from cottonseed. The main design elements are carefully calibrated for visual balance, underlining how considered and premium the brand is.
The signature element is a mark shaped like a cottonseed, a symbol of the product’s natural origin. It scales easily and appears in the POSM as well as on the packaging, keeping the brand’s visual identity consistent.
Darital now has a strong visual identity that reinforces its image as a modern, professional brand. The clean design and its signature elements form a versatile toolkit that works on packaging, in advertising and at other touchpoints.
